Have Artists merely become entertainers?

Art has always been entertainment through the expression of emotions by the artist and the veiwer of the art.It provokes a reaction. Entertainment comes in many shapes and forms.Art is a medium of entertainment.So artists have always been entertainers!Who knows the reason for the comment!Could in itself be pretentious!
