Did the brothers in the Bible refer to themselves according to their function in the church?

No I don't think they did .If anything they called themselves lowly bond servants ?? Steven was stoned to death for the Gospels sake while waiting on tables . Any time a Brother or Sister starts in on how they are gifted, my ears shut off (unless I ask directly ) because it is a sign of immaturity .I had a person who I was trying to share Jesus with ( a call on us all) ,tell me that he was a Reverend ,he had become one on-line. And so , a title means little .
