Should i join the RAF?

Ive just turned 18 and I play football for a conference football club but i dont think i will be awarded a professional contract. I would like to become a pilot becuase it apeals to me but the options are very expensive. (i have good GCSE's and have the equilvalent of two A's at A levels). What are the pros and cons and commitments of the RAF. I would like to thank everyone in advance for thier SENSIBLE answers.
