Could some one help me with this?

I am planning to make a short film with a gang of friends at my college. One of them is aspiring to become a director too and has written a few good stories as well. But the problem is we don't have any experience in film making. We are planning to start our experiment by march but don't know where to start. Tried learning via the internet, but it dint help much. Wish some one would help us some how.
