What's the best way to kill fleas when u have carpet?

Put down flea killing powder and then vacuum, vacuum, vacuum- I did this several times a day and it did work. You have to get the eggs up. You must also change the vacuum bag every time. I was pregnant and did not want to have someone come in and spray everywhere. You also need to treat your pets and get some stuff for the lawn too or you will just get more of them again.
